C. Preston Linn appointed Vice President for Alliances by Advanced Animal Diagnostics (AAD)

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C., May 01, 2007—“Preston Linn is well known, even beyond the Research Triangle area, for his ability to bring people and companies together. He also has broad knowledge of biotechnology, medical devices, product development and commercialization through alliances” says Rudy Rodriguez, President and Chief Technical Officer of AAD. “We are beginning our first investment round to fund commercialization of AAD’s first product in 2008. Preston is joining us at just the right time. He will help coordinate several existing alliances while finding new opportunities for us. He was instrumental in hosting AAD as an incubator company at BD Technologies, so he knows our technology and strategy very well. We are very happy to have such a highly respected professional as part of our team”.

Mr. Linn most recently served as Alliance Manager, Business Development, BD Technologies, in Research Triangle Park. In recent years, among other duties, he managed the BD Technologies Incubator and was involved with 15 emerging companies in the area. These companies have created over 500 jobs and raised almost $500 million dollars in VC Funding, Grants, or Corporate Funding. Before his 22 years at BD, he was a researcher at Research Triangle Institute and Union Carbide Ag Products. Mr. Linn has 21 Publications and 15 issued US Patents, including several in a successful molecular diagnostic product commercialized by BD. He graduated from UNC at Chapel Hill with a BS in Chemistry.

He is the member of several professional societies including, American Chemical Society (ACS), American Society for Microbiology (ASM), and Licensing Executives Society (LES). He is a retired Lieutenant Colonel in the NC Air National Guard with nearly 22 years of service. He lives in Durham, NC.
